Hybrizyme and Polymerase Chain Reaction Technology.........

AhRC PCRTM - Receptor Capture PCR
Hybrizyme Brings Proven PCR Technology to Dioxin Detection
The AhRC PCRtm assay couples the Ah-receptor with Nobel Prize winning PCR technology to produce an easy-to-use, sensitive method for dioxin analysis. The AhRC PCRtm kit can be shipped worldwide, yielding results from sample extracts within hours. Ideally suited for stationary or mobile laboratories.

Technology allows Dramatic Price Reduction
While modern HRGC-HRMS methodology has been successfully developed and applied, such analyses typically cost approximately $1,000, or more, each. Additionally, there are very few laboratories in the world capable of performing such analyses. The cost for AhRC PCRtm analysis is a fraction of that using HRGC-HRMS.

Developed for Real-Time PCR Detection Systems
The AhRC PCRtm assay was developed for real-time PCR systems such as the ABI PRISM 7000 which can generate up to 96 results per run or the Cepheid Smart Cycler designed to be totally transportable.

Take Advantage of the Analytical Speed and Low Cost Per Analysis of the AhRC PCRtm Assay
Hybrizyme's AhRC PCRtm technology, is capable of detecting and quantifying 2,3,7,8-substituted CDDs/CDFs in diverse and complicated sample matrices using techniques which, although technically sophisticated, are simple to perform. This technology is suitable for the detection of dioxins and furans in environmental and food samples.

AhRC PCRtm Utilizes the Specificity of the Ah Receptor
Dioxin-like compounds activate the Ah Receptor (AhR) to a form that binds DNA. The activated receptor complex is trapped onto a microwell and the receptor-bound DNA is amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). A fluorescent probe quantifies the newly synthesized DNA. In real-time PCR, the quantification occurs at each cycle, yielding a primary growth curve (fluorescence vs. cycle number). Fluorescence correlates with the amount of input DNA and with the concentration of TEQ in the test sample.

The AhRC PCRtm Assay Requires Only a Few Steps to Perform:

Add sample extract in methanol to the Activation Solution, mix and incubate for 1 hr at room temperature

Transfer to Capture Strip "microwell" and shake for 30 minutes at room temperature

Wash the Capture Strip

Add PCR mix

PCR amplify
