Hybrizyme Corporation's DELFIA PCB Soils test receives verification from Environmental Protection Agency, Oak Ridge National Laboratory………
The US EPA created the Environmental Technology Verification Program (ETV) to facilitate the deployment of innovative or improved environmental technologies through performance verification and dissemination of information. ETV recently published the results of tests conducted to determine the suitability of Hybrizyme's DELFIA PCB Soils test for field use. While the company's test was designed to be used in a laboratory environment, the challenge of moving it to the field was met by establishing a "lab-in-a-tent". While others involved in the test sweltered in the heat of a Tennessee August, after completing sample processing, Hybrizyme technicians worked in relative comfort in a small, but adequate laboratory set up in an air conditioned tent. The entire laboratory took less than one hour to unload and set up.
